Getting To and From Zell am See
There are a number of options to get into town. Of course you need to pick the one that suits the prevailing weather conditions!

To / From Zell am See - Walking (20 mins) or Cycling (10 mins)You can walk or cycle into town along the foot or cycle path.
The path begins from the end of the cul-de-sac opposite the apartment. If you follow the path keeping the lake on your right you will reach the town. The route is marked out in red on the map. TAxiThere are taxi numbers provided in the apartment information cupboard. When ordering a taxi, just give the address of the apartment and the name on the doorbell (Crowley).
On returning from town there is a taxi rank at the train station that is well serviced. |
Train or Bus
The train stop and bus stop are at the top of the road. There is a regular service from these stops into and from Zell am See. The bus stop and local (narrow gauge - Pinzgau) train stop at the top of Karl Vogt Strasse is called “Tischlerhäusl”. The bus stop towards the Areitbahn and the Kitzsteinhorn is just outside the Hotel Alpenblick. The bus top towards Zell am See is across the road from the Hotel Alpenblick (the apartment side of the road). If you want to travel to / from Zell am See or towards Areitbahn / Kaprun / Kitzsteinhorn The bus route 660 goes from Zell am See -Tischlerhäusl - Areitbahn - Kaprun - Kitzsteinhorn. This timetable is here If you want to hit the shops or see the sights in Salzburg The bus route 260 goes from Zell am See - Saalfelden - Lofer - Bad Reichenhall – Salzburg. This train will take you up the valley to Krimml where a connecting bus will take you to the waterfall. There are also plenty of stops on route that are worth investigating.
