Zell am See offers a selection of well run and child friendly ski schools
"We've been holidaying at Haus Sonas regularly since discovering it 9 years ago. The accommodation is very clean and comfortable with lots of bedroom space both in the main bedroom and loft space - ideal for families. It’s a great location with access to both Zell am See slopes and Kaprun and a short walk into the centre of Zell Am See. The ski schools in my opinion are the best in Europe and my children love it there. We'll be back again next year!

Krimml Waterfall is an impressive sight
Haus Sonas provides such a wonderful base with amazing views in a location packed with things to do and places to see. The apartment feels like a cosy cottage or chalet, very comfortable and well equipped. The log fire is perfect for relaxing after a hard day on the mountain!
The closest piste, a super long red run can be seen from one of the balconies plus you have the snow sure glacier a bus/ car ride away, with amazing off-piste. We are also keen cross country skiers and were delighted with the extensive tracks (over 200 km!)which start 10 minutes away from Haus Sonas.
The train journey to Krimml waterfall is very scenic, they also allow you to take on bikes as well as skis, when the snow melts the trail becomes suitable for easy cycling if you are not up to the downhill mountain bike trails! The local bakery is very tempting and only a few minutes walk away. The pizza restaurant next door has good pizza to take away and the tennis club just beside the cross country ski tracks is a nice local spot; with a great homemade goulash soup. The centre of Zell has many bars and restaurants and is a scenic walk by the lake, well lit in the evenings.
We were 100 percent happy with our choice of Haus Sonas as a Winter/ Spring destination and imagine it to be a stunning Summer venue. We certainly hope to visit again. Many Thanks!!

Zell am See has bike trails to suit cyclists of all abilities
We have visited Haus Sonas in both winter and summer and enjoyed both holidays enormously. The apartment location is fantastic, the only drawback is that it is difficult to pass the bakery at the end of the road without dropping in!.
We spent most of our evenings by the log fire enjoying the library of board games, books and DVD's – although Zell am See has plenty of restaurants / bars and clubs if you want to hit the town!
Our summer holiday was also fantastic. We made great use of the bikes provided by Haus Sonas and were amazed by the kms of flat accessible trails for the amateur cyclist like us. We will be back again!

There are hiking trails for everyone across the mountains and valleys.
Stayed in Haus Sonas twice for a hiking holiday and would highly recommend! Accommodation & location is spot on with the town just being a nice stroll or better yet a short cycle away. Everything you need is in the flat and there are not one but two balconies to enjoy the views! Definitely hope return at some stage to see it in Winter for some skiing.
